I *love* being a book lady. Shoot, I am at home with messy hair, hanging out with fun, like-minded pals on facebook, spreading the love of reading – oh yea, and my book lady income contributes to my fam – some months I pay the car payments, others I pay for the family vacation. Not a bad gig, right?
Why is it important for you to raise readers? It’s important for me because right now at 6 ,my son, Ben can read chapter books and answer questions after he is done reading. And it allows him to calm down before bedtime and he’s not watching TV. My 3 yr old ,daughter, Charlotte tells me shes having a book sale like mommy and will sit and read a story to her “class” and show them the pictures. Its adorable! 🙂
I want to be able to spread literacy to all children. Books take us into our imagination and on adventures without even having to leave home!
